About Luca Janssen:

Harmonious, go-getter, open

What I like about local politics? That it happens everywhere around you. Many people feel that politics is something that does not relate to them directly. While in fact, many decisions made in the city council affect our daily living in the city. Issues as what the inner city should look like, or whether an initiative should be supported, is decided upon during the city council meetings. In my opinion, we should make these decisions together with all residents. As a political party it is our duty to pro-active communicate our plans and outcomes to society, and involve them in our decision process.
Maastricht is a very diverse city and has a lot to offer. Its diversity makes it a perfect spot for a variety of people to be – or to discover – themselves. Hopefully, for most people Maastricht feels like home already. However, I do believe that there is still some space left for improvement.
Via M:OED I would like to advocate for a more inclusive society. A society where everybody gets an equal chance to develop according to his/her/their personal wishes. I sincerely hope that people then will be able to not only see the beautiful city we are living in, but that they also see the residents who make this city beautiful.
